I am a drama practitioner and a researcher. I specialise in performative language teaching and research, that is, second language education through the arts. My practice is influenced by my experience as a second language teacher and my training in process drama, Butoh and voice work.

I work as a lecturer in Arts Education at Trinity College Dublin. As part of my role, I act as the coordinator for the Master in Education (M.Ed.), a programme that features 48 modules across 12 strands. I teach the Embodying Language module (M.Ed., Language strand), Drama Summer School (M.Ed., Drama in Education Strand) and Arts Education module (Professional Master of Education). I supervise many Master’s, PME and Ph.D. students.

Ricardo Solis Dressing the zebra

“It is not the ego that is important. It is the accumulation of the infinite nuances of the elements involved in a work that are important. You are not the master, the work is the master, and in flow you can identify yourself with your work in a joyous, symbiotic way.” (Ken Mogi, The little book of Ikigai)
